The Playground Standard is our belief that playgrounds should be cared for the same way we care for other public spaces. Kids deserve clean, well-maintained places to play, and communities deserve playgrounds they can be proud of.
The company was created by parents who were tired of avoiding dirty playgrounds and wondering when they had last been cleaned. We believe children deserve better, so we built a company dedicated to raising the standard for playground care.
Our goal is simple: to make professional playground care the standard, not the exception.
Playgrounds are some of the most heavily used spaces in any community. Hundreds of hands touch the same surfaces every day, allowing dirt, grime, and germs to build up quickly.
Playgrounds also collect sweat, food residue, dirt, pollen, bird droppings, and other debris from constant use. Because they are outdoors, this buildup can happen faster than many people realize.
Professional playground care helps maintain a cleaner environment so kids can play safely and parents can feel confident about where their children play.
We prioritize high-touch surfaces where germs are most likely to spread. These areas include:
Slides
Handrails
Climbing structures
Swings
Transfer platforms
Entry points and ladders
These surfaces are touched by dozens or even hundreds of children each day, making them the most important areas to properly clean and sanitize.
While our process is effective for cleaning and sanitizing most playground equipment, there are a few things we do not service. We do not clean fabric shade structures, and we do not offer graffiti removal. While our cleaning solutions may reduce the appearance of graffiti, complete removal typically requires specialized restoration services.
It depends on how frequently the playground is used and local illness trends. High-traffic areas benefit from regular sanitizing, especially during flu season or after illness outbreaks. We can help you determine the right cleaning schedule for your playground.
If you begin noticing more children getting sick after using the playground, or if surfaces appear visibly dirty, it may be a sign that sanitizing is needed. Regular cleaning helps prevent buildup before issues start and keeps play areas cleaner and safer for children.
Cleaning time varies depending on the size and condition of the playground equipment. A first-time cleaning typically takes about 3 to 6 hours, and our team works efficiently to minimize downtime.
We aim for a "Ready-to-Play" structure. Our sanitizing solutions dry quickly, so children can usually return to the playground shortly after the cleaning is complete.
We use non-toxic, biodegradable, child-safe disinfectants that help reduce germs without leaving harmful residue behind. Our cleaning solutions are designed to be safe for children, pets, and the surrounding environment while still providing effective sanitation.
Once the cleaning process is complete, children can safely return to play.
